Mon-Stilettos

Since 2015 the large, brightly coloured shoe sculptures have become an integral feature of the Montabaur street scene. Lining the route from the Montabaur Fashion Outlet into the town centre, they have become a popular subject for photographers. Responding to a call, free-lance-artists, school-classes, clubs, initiatives and firms all participated in the designs - hence the colourful variety of the over-dimensional high-heels. The intention behind the project was to reference the town's shoe-making tradition. The Mon-Stilettos are a modern variation on the historical theme.
