Welcome to Montabaur in the Southern Westerwald. Here you will find history and tradition combined with a visionary blueprint for the future.

Visit the historic old town and stroll through the winding streets with lovingly restored half-timbered buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries, fanciful fountains, the "Großer Markt" (Old Market Square) with the historic town hall, and the thousand-year-old church of "St Peter in Chains". Here is the place to stop off for a coffee, when out shopping or visiting the weekly market.

"Montabaur - Points of Interest - A Short Town Walk" is the name of a brochure published by the town of Montabaur in cooperation with the Tourist Office. The handy pocket-sized booklet offers a brief description and photos of the most important sights. Using the town map inside "Points of Interest" you can set off and discover the attractions. It also offers information on the town history and leisure activities in and around Montabaur.

The brochure, available in English, French and Dutch, can be downloaded here.
